Job description
A well established school based in Kingston Upon-Thames is looking to recruit 3 new SEND Teaching Assistants for immediate start.

Our schools strive to meet the diverse and individual needs of its pupils who have special education needs and disabilities. Our schools provide education for students with special needs that include; autism, profound multiple learning disabilities, sever learning disabilities and complex needs.

It is fundamental that any candidate considering this position has prior experience working with students with special educational needs; specially with pupils who have challenging behaviour. You will need to demonstrate an enthusiastic and caring attitude to work as you will be required to work in small groups or 1-1 with students.

Duties include but are not limited to:

- 1:1 support to children with special needs, including social and emotional difficulties and challenging behaviour.
- Assisting with learning and social skills
- Taking instruction from the class teacher

The ideal candidate will have:

- Experience of working with children in a permanent or voluntary capacity.
- Capable of following instruction whilst also using initiative.
- Patience, empathy, resilience and confidence.
- At least 6 months of experience working with pupils of a Primary or Secondary age
- Team Teach qualification is desirable but not vital
