Job description

1 to 1 Teaching Assistants - North London

The One to One Teaching Assistant is appointed to work with nominated children under the overall direction of the Senco, but also in conjunction with the class teachers who have the nominated children. Their work is primarily to:

-Foster the participation of nominated pupils in the social and academic processes of the school.
-Seek to enable pupils to become more independent learners.
-Help to raise standards of achievement for all their nominated pupils.

The School we are now working in partnership with, is looking for enthusiastic a 1 to 1 Teaching Assistant to support some of their students with SERN needs on a daily basis from January 2018. The post for will be up until July 2018 with a possibility of extension and career development for the right candidates.

Candidates will need to demonstrate that they have:

• A good working knowledge of the National curriculum.
• Relevant qualifications (GCSEs in English & Maths Grade C or above).
• The ability to express themselves effectively orally and in writing.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to use these to build and maintain professional working relationships with parents/carers and staff.
• The physical stamina to make an effective contribution to children's learning both indoors and outdoors.
• Recent experience of working within a school setting.
• The ability to act calmly and quickly when under pressure.
