Do you have a calm, confident approach and a knack for bringing out the best in children who need a little extra support?

We’re looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to work 1:1 with a Year 5 pupil who has social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and can display challenging behaviour. • Using de-escalation strategies to help the pupil regulate emotions and stay engaged
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt learning to meet individual needs
  • Encouraging positive relationships, emotional resilience, and confidence in learning
  • Supporting behaviour plans and contributing to a safe, structured environment

About you:

  • Experience supporting children with SEMH, trauma, or challenging behaviour (school or alternative setting)
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive mindset
  • Thrive-trained or willing to complete Protocol Education’s free Thrive training (which schools love!)
  • Resilient and ready to be a trusted adult for a pupil who needs one most

What you’ll get from us:

  • Weekly pay through PAYE – no umbrella deductions
  • Free CPD through our online training academy
  • Ongoing support from a friendly local consultant who genuinely listens
  • Opportunities to develop your skills across SEND and mainstream settings
