Job description
Our School is a large foundation primary school in Slough.
As a School of Creativity, they ensure every child has the opportunity to develop through a wide range of creative activities including art, drama, music, dance and philosophy for children. They believe that encouraging their children to think and to question, helps them to develop essential life skills.
Children are given opportunities to develop their confidence and leadership skills through taking an active role in the School Council, as Ambassadors; who guide and inform visitors, buddies, looking after younger children in the playground and eco monitors.
Their most recent OFSTED inspection highlighted the many strengths the school has, including an excellent provision for children in the early years, high quality teaching and learning and a broad, balanced, exciting curriculum.
They are currently looking for a TA to look after a child with ASD in Year 6 on a 1-1 basis.
The successful candidate will have experience of working with children with special needs such as autism (ASD), SEMH (Social Emotional and Mental Health) and speech and language difficulties.

As a SEND Learning Support / TA, successful candidates will need the following experience and skills:

• To have worked one to one and lead groups with children with special needs such as PMLD, ASD and speech and language difficulties.
• Experience working with children with challenging behaviour.
• Excellent communication skills, the ability to use initiative and work well under pressure.
• Be able to differentiate work to support needs of children.
• PECS and Makaton experience is desirable
