Job description
An exciting new opportunity has come up in the Barton Hill area! An Ofsted registered independent school are looking for Support Workers to work 1:1 with their pupils. It provides full-time, alternative, secondary education for young people who have been excluded from their previous school or pupil referral unit. It presents a great opportunity to build those crucial relationships with the pupil and support them during the day with different activities.

This is a rewarding role for those looking to see the benefit and the positive long-term outcome of working with these young people. The role involves driving the young person to different locations during the working hours of the day whether that is taking them to their education setting or taking them to recreational activities.

The working hours are 8:30-4:30 and you must have a full driving licence. The role is to start ASAP until the end of the school year. You will be reimbursed for mileage during the working day. Experience isn't essential, but a calming and approachable attitude is essential.

Essential Criteria:
•Resilience and patience
•Full driving licence and access to a vehicle 5 days a week
•Basic awareness of young people and social emotional and mental health (SEMH)
•A drive to make a difference

Desirable Criteria
•Previous experience working with Young People
•Previous experience working with SEND
•Education related qualifications
