A small, welcoming primary school in the GL12 area is looking for a full-time 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs including ASD, ADHD, and behavioural needs. This role is to start as soon as possible and run until May half term, with the possibility of extending for the right person.
This is a small, friendly primary school set in a beautiful rural location, where community spirit is strong and every child is truly known by name. The school prides itself on a family feel, with children of all ages supporting and looking after one another.
Staff work closely together to create an environment where pupils feel confident, safe and encouraged to explore learning. The school’s ethos focuses on values such as kindness, respect, resilience and responsibility, helping pupils grow not only academically but personally too.
With a small pupil population and a dedicated team, staff are able to give children the attention and encouragement they need to thrive.
You’ll be working 1:1 with a pupil who needs calm, consistent support to access the classroom and feel confident in their learning.
Your day might include:
Providing individual support in lessons and during transitions
Helping the pupil stay engaged with learning activities
Supporting with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Building a trusting, supportive relationship that helps the pupil feel safe and successful
It’s a role where patience, empathy and consistency really matter.
Someone who:
Has experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD or behavioural needs
Brings a calm, positive and resilient approach
Builds strong relationships with pupils and staff
Is confident supporting behaviour and emotional needs
Can commit full-time until at least May half term
Because of the school’s rural location in GL12, a car driver is essential.
A chance to work in a supportive, close-knit school community
The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to one pupil’s day-to-day learning
Experience in a school that values kindness, confidence and personal growth as much as academic progress
If you enjoy working closely with children who need that extra bit of support, this could be a brilliant fit.
