1:1 SEN Support Global Delay - January 2018

A Hackney Primary School has a long term job for a SEND Teaching Assistant to start in January until the end of the academic year. The school provides primary education to 280 pupils and is rated good' by Ofsted. You will be working 1:1 with a specific child with Global Delay until the end of the academic year.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant in this primary school you will work 1:1 with a pupil with Global Delay. You will assist in the educational and social development of this pupil under the direction of the headteacher, SENCo and class teachers. You will assist in the implementation of individual education plans and help monitor the pupils progress. You will provide support to the pupil inside and outside of the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities. You will support the pupil with their learning and social well being within the school. You will work with other agencies including speech and language therapists, health care professionals and specialist services. It is hoped that you will be happy to get involved in a range of activities to support the pupils progress in school.

Ideally you will have experience of working with children and young people with special education needs. You will have an outgoing and engaging approach to your work and be able to support and encourage the development of pupils that you work with. Experience of visual timetables, interactive play, PECs and visual systems is desirable. Knowledge of education and health care plans is desirable.
