A welcoming primary school in the GL12 area is seeking a full-time 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil with additional needs including ASD, ADHD and behavioural needs.
This role is available immediately and will run until May half term, with the potential to extend for the right candidate.
This is a small, friendly primary school set in a beautiful rural location, where staff work closely together to create a calm, supportive learning environment. The school has a strong community feel and places real importance on helping children grow in confidence, resilience and kindness, alongside their academic learning.
Because of the rural location, a car driver is essential for this role.
You will be working 1:1 with a pupil, supporting them throughout the school day to help them feel settled, engaged and ready to learn.
Your responsibilities will include:
Providing individual support in the classroom
Helping the pupil stay focused and engaged in lessons
Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO
Building a positive, trusting relationship with the pupil
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience supporting children with ASD, ADHD or behavioural needs
Is calm, patient and consistent
Builds strong relationships with pupils and staff
Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
Can commit to full-time work until at least May half term
Drives and has access to a car due to the school’s rural location
Experience working in a supportive and welcoming school
The opportunity to make a meaningful impact on a child’s learning and wellbeing
A role that could extend beyond May half term
