Job description
1:1 Behaviour Support Assistant - Lewisham

Interviews available immediately.

Protocol Education are looking for a passionate SEMH Classroom Assistant with PE for one of our Special Needs Schools. The school support all children from 5 to 16 who have SEMH as their main need. The school admits children from all Lewisham mainstream schools who are referred to them due to behavioural difficulties.

In this role you will be working 1:1 with a KS1 ODD (Oppositional Defiant Disorder) pupil who requires additional support in order to achieve academically. Within the schedule for this pupil, you will be required to supervise an afternoon of sports/exercise. Therefore, the ideal candidate will also come from a PE/Sports Coaching background.

The successful applicant will have the following attributes:

• Strong behaviour management
• Experience in Physical Education or a Sports Coaching backgroun.
• Resilience
• Relationship building
• Good understanding of special education needs and students with social, emotional and mental health needs.
