Job description
1:1 Autistic Classroom Assistant

Immediate start.

Protocol Education are currently recruiting for a mixed SEND (Special Education Needs and Disabilities) school with both Primary and Secondary units in the Chessington area. The school itself is a wonderful environment to work in with a great team of Teachers and Support Staff. The school is consistently looking to push boundaries with pupil therapy techniques and develop in order to improve, with a new Primary unit that has recently been built to increase the capacity of the school.

The needs of the children are varied, including pupils with ASD (Autism), Downs Syndrome, Speech and Language difficulties and complex learning difficulties. Protocol Education are looking for someone who has experience of working with children or vulnerable adults with special needs, and has a strong desire to make a difference to a young persons life. A resilient, patient and empathetic approach is vital in this role to ensure the pupils are given the best opportunity to succeed.

The successful candidate will:

Be enthusiastic and flexible with a very "hands-on" approach
Be prepared to get involved with school life and make a positive contribution to the school
Possess a positive and helpful attitude
Have first class communication skills
Be passionate about making a difference
