Teaching Jobs in Year 3 Classes
Protocol Education works with primary and junior schools to find year 3 teachers to fill Key Stage 2 teaching jobs.
Year 3 marks the start of Key Stage 2 and entrance into Junior school. In Year 3 there is less of a focus on phonics and more emphasis on understanding and learning the spelling rules, as well as attention to prefixes and suffixes. There are statutory spelling lists for Year 3 and 4, so schools will split these across the two years, with teachers adding additional topic-linked words or words they feel their class needs to practise.
Mathematics in Year 3 has more of a times-tables focus. Quick recall of the required 3, 4, 8 and 50 times-tables (as well as the 2, 5 and 10 times-tables they’ve already learned in Year 1 and 2) is important as they form the foundation for a large majority of the work the children will cover within the year.
Southwark is a borough in South East London with 74 primary schools (the most in London) 19 secondary schools and 9 special schools (also the highest in London). The borough's large population means that, as well of there being lots of schools, there are lots of job opportunities for teachers and teaching assistants within Southwark schools.
Protocol Education works with many Southwark schools to help them cover daily supply, long-term and permanent teacher and teaching assistant jobs.
