Hertfordshire

As the most northern of the Home Counties, Hertfordshire can offer many diverse schools as well as entertainment outside of work. Based on main line train stations in London, you are never more than a 40 minute train ride away from the excitement and bustle of the city although you can enjoy the perks of living just outside.

The areas are diverse within Hertfordshire. There is the beautiful market town of St Albans, where the majority of the residents are professional workers who commute into London. Consequently the area is affluent with excellent schools, where the parents are supportive and the kids are keen to learn. The town itself has wine bars and an excellent social network.

Oxfordshire

Why teach in Oxfordshire? Most importantly has to be the schools. Oxford City Centre closely resembles teaching in London with diverse cultures and backgrounds. The schools are keen to provide every child with the highest levels of education with a strong focus that ‘every child matters’. Being from an inner city environment, some of the schools can be tough but there are excellent behaviour strategies and teachers have often commented how hugely rewarding their teaching experience in Oxford has been.

In Oxford the schools realise the importance of happy teaching staff where no matter whether you decide to utilise your skills with the abundance of daily supply work in Oxfordshire or commit to a more longer term assignment. You will benefit from the full support of the head teacher, senior management staff and parents alike. You will receive regular progress reviews from your designated mentor within the school, full guidance from the head teachers, and ongoing CPD from Protocol Education.
