Are you passionate about early childhood education and nurturing the development of young learners? Protocol are currently seeking a dedicated Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our team in Harrow, London.

Position Overview: As a Nursery Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the nursery teacher in providing high-quality care and education to our youngest learners. You will work closely with children aged 3-4 years old, helping to create a safe, engaging, and enriching learning environment where every child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to explore and discover.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the nursery teacher in planning and delivering age-appropriate activities and experiences that promote the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of children.
  • Support individual children's learning and development through one-on-one interaction, small group activities, and guided play.
  • Help to maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, including setting up and tidying away resources, supervising children during playtime, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and caregivers, providing regular communication and updates on children's progress and well-being.
  • Assist with the observation and assessment of children's learning and development, contributing to the planning of future activities and experiences.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and supportive team environment, sharing ideas, resources, and best practices.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities and engage in reflective practice to continually enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young children, preferably in a nursery or early years setting.
  • A genuine passion for early childhood education and a commitment to providing high-quality care and support to young learners.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • A warm, nurturing, and patient demeanor, with the ability to build positive relationships and create a sense of security and belonging for children.
  • Basic understanding of child development principles and a willingness to learn and grow professionally.
