Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and interactive English lessons to students across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, encompassing literature, language, and literacy skills.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and encouraged to express their ideas and opinions.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and resources to cater to the diverse needs and learning styles of students, promoting active participation and critical thinking.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback and support to facilitate their academic growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects and initiatives that integrate English with other subject areas and promote interdisciplinary learning.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Strong subject knowledge and teaching experience in English, with a passion for literature, language, and literacy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Enthusiasm, creativity, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young learners.
  • Commitment to upholding the highest standards of teaching and learning and promoting the school's values and ethos.
