Getting a UK Bank Account
One of the first things you will do upon arrival into the UK is apply for a bank account. Doing it yourself can be tricky and time consuming, so Protocol Education and HSBC Bank have teamed up to make this process quick and easy! All teachers registered with Protocol Education are 'fast-tracked' for a bank account - meaning you can get your hands on your hard-earned pounds soon after arrival!
At your UK induction you will be provided with the appropriate forms and walked through the procedure while you are in the office. If you have your induction in London you will visit the local HSBC branch in person, and if you have your induction in other offices in the UK Protocol Education will submit your completed forms on your behalf.
It's as easy as that!
If you do not yet have a UK postal address, you may use your local Protocol Education office address for correspondence; therefore ensuring the safety of your bank card, etc.
Getting a National Insurance (NI) Number
If you are registered with Protocol Education, our Teacher Services Department can help you with this! At your UK induction you will be provided with the appropriate forms and shown how to complete them. Once your application has been processed by HM Revenue & Customs you will receive your NI number in the post. This should then be passed on to our Payroll team and also My Key Pay.
