Types of Work

Working with Protocol Education has always been about choice - you choose the style, type and frequency of work and we find it for you. We have 100 consultants in 16 branches, working with some 2,500 schools across the UK. Protocol Education can offer you the widest choice of work to suit your needs, from a couple of days a week daily cover to a long-term, full-time teaching assignment with your own class.

We are the single largest agency for daily cover in London, so if you haven’t got a long-term role lined up before you travel, we have a regular stream of work to tide you over until you find your dream role.

Working for Protocol Education gives you three styles of work to choose from:

Daily Supply – The most flexible option is to look for work on a daily basis, covering teachers as they are absent from school due to illness or training commitments. Daily work gives you the opportunity to work in a variety of schools and education provisions enabling you to gain a taste of what a school is like before committing to a longer-term appointment.

Long-Term Supply – Working in a post for half a term or longer, long-term supply allows you to take the full responsibilities of a permanent member of staff. Long-term teachers are required to make a greater input into curriculum planning and the life of the school at large.

Permanent Work – Often teachers working on a long-term basis covering a permanent vacancy will be offered a contract by the school. Alternatively some schools will appoint Protocol Education to recruit permanent staff on their behalf.
